Managed IT Services

Solution Overview

Our remote monitoring and management platform is able to monitor and manage all of your on-site network-attached devices, company devices that are not directly attached to your network but used at remote locations and mobile devices, such as tablets and smartphones. Following is a high level overview of how the system works:

Onsite Manager

On-site Manager monitors all network attached devices at your business premises

On-site Manager monitors all network attached devices at your business premises

Onsite Manager single, lightweight piece of software installed on one device at each site. Onsite Manager performs secure, comprehensive scans of your environment to gather the up-to-date information that we need to manage your IT assets. Onsite Manager will perform regular scans of your network and automatically discover attached devices. Discovered devices can then be monitored and managed using a variety of standard protocols.

With Onsite Manager, we can monitor and manage anything with an IP address, including: desktops, laptops, servers, managed switches, routers, firewalls, gateways, VoIP switches and phones, printers, faxes or scanners, off-the-shelf and custom applications, specialized equipment and environmental control devices, internal and external websites, SaaS resources, virtual machines and much more.

Device Manager

Device Manager allows the monitoring of Windows devices that are out of reach of Onsite Manager. These include roaming laptops, servers in remote offices or data centers, small home offices and clients with no server or peer-to-peer networks. Other opportunities include kiosks, digital signage and any application when a PC or server OS is acting as a process controller with a connection to the Internet.

Device manager only performs monitoring and management functions for the device on which it is install, it does not perform a scan on the network to which it is attached. Device manager is installed locally on the device to be managed and communicates directly with the Service Center but is still associated with a site in the Service Center. Sites can be exclusively configured with Device Managers or an Onsite Manager, or a combination of both.

Mobile Device Management

Mobile Device Management (MDM) allows the monitoring of smartphones and tablets. After the Mobile Manager agent is installed on a mobile device, administrators can see these devices from within the Service Centre, including phone numbers and
hardware details. Advanced features, such as software assets, detection of rooted or jailbroken devices, current and historic location information and more are available for some mobile operating systems.Supported phones also allow for protection of business data on the device if it is lost or stolen by using the wipe, lock or reset feature.

The following devices are supported:

  • Apple (minimum supported version iOS 4.0)
    phones and tablets
  • Android (minimum supported version 2.1) phones
    and tablets
  • Blackberry (minimum supported version 4.3)
